To ottawa : Tavares

To nyi : white, dzingle, a 1st in 2018, and a 3rd in 2019

Isles get a top 6/ 9 speedy forward who's young enough to get better yet, a couple high picks in up coming drafts, and an elite level prospect to boot for a superstar who by the looks of it, doesn't intend to re-sign anyway.

Justification

Last 2 kessel trades, spezza trade, hall trade, etc. This is a bigger return than all of those for a guy who remains unsigned. Nyi I gets valuable assets instead of losing him for nothing while ottawa lands that superstar center to play with E. K. and the boys.

Who would be coming off Ottawa's books to afford this player? Or is this strictly a trade to acquire a rental and that's all? Either way, not believable for either team.

Who's coming off the books for ottawa? Did you really just ask that lol? Neil methot stalberg kelly etc free up more than enough space on their own let alone the space they still have from last season and the fact MacArthur will be back on ir they could litterally afford Tavares and duchesne if they really wanted to.

And dzingle is already a top 6 forward on most teams while white is an elite prospect with top 6 maybe even top 3 potential plus 2 picks including a 1st, I'd say that's pretty generous for a guy who will most likely let his contract run out and test free agency before he resigns with the islanders in which case they will get nothing for him anyway lol. Maybe ottawa throws in Ceci under the condition that Tavares signs long term (4 or more years) .
