Could it be a Galchenyuk, tavares swap?

Galchenyuk, Sherbak, Lindgren 1st 2019, Conditional 2nd 2018 (turns to a 5th if Galchenyuk scores more than 60 points) for Tavares, conditional 4th ( becomes a 3rd if Tavares scores less than 60 points)

If their talking then it's not about Tavares, at least not yet. It's way too early, Islanders are still talking extension with Tavares and they traded for Eberle with the purpose of giving Tavares a scoring winger to help him.

As for the deal you proposed, I don't think that gets Tavares. Even as a rental, his cost will be the highest compared to other rentals traded at deadline.

Also not sure how high the Islanders are on Lindgren or Scherbak. Plus it all depends on what direction the Islanders want to go. If they want to go rebuild then they move Tavares for the largest amount of young players, prospects and high draft picks or they will keep Tavares and push for the playoffs.

It's not quite certain one way or the other. That's what I know.

Then if Habs could resign Tavares, that would be pretty much 30 million for him, Price and Weber. I can't see it.

I don't see it happening either but as for the money factor, most good teams are going to have near $30 mill in their top 3 players going forward. Just the way the money is being spent. If you're going to pay 3 players that kinda money I think the best goalie in the world, a horse of a #1 Dman and legit superstar centre is the way to do it.

I do agree with that Jim, my only problem is paying Weber that amount. he's already starting to slow. so in like 2 years, we are going to need another 7 to 9 million dman. hmm. we had one at the right age. If it was still PK., i'd be all over it.

Don't worry Sosa habs are deep in defense prospects. a couple of those guys will make the team in a couple years. have faith man.

Hab, who? After Juulsen. I don't really see any potential top 4 guys. we were OK with Sergachev. I obviously don't follow the prospects enough. But no one really stands out for me.

i hope not galchenyuk will score 30 to 40 goal a year, if you could trade for a c1 or good centerman , again calling peter and saying trade plek for rnh, or I'll summit and offer sheet of 7.5-8 mill to daisaitl, your choice.

Sosa we'll they do have a guy named victor mete who outplayed vancouvers 5th overall choice from last year. simon bourque Brett Lernout Arvid hendrikson nick koberstien plus the 4 defenseman they drafted this year just to name a few. probably no drew doughty in the bunch but I think it's safe to assume at least a couple of those guys will slot into the future top six. mete and juulsen both have potential to be top 4 IMO at this point I would say mete is probably slightly better.

As I say with every Tavares proposal: they just traded for Eberle to give their franchise player a legit winger. They aren't trading Tavares anytime soon.
