Carolina and Colorado are the perfect fits its just a matter of time. Could it be something along the lines of:

CAR: Hanifin, Roy, Lack, 1st

COL: Duchene, Bigras, 2nd

Could also be Ward there, whichever goalie they want to send.

Hanfin>>Duchene.

I really don't see hannifin being the D they move first of all. Also the canes aren't deep up front with prospects like they are on the back end and Roy has been a lot better than his draft Position indicates. More likely the prospect canes wanna send is a D. Also avs wanted a young NHL Dman and a prospect D man at the deadline. I assume that hasn't changed. Not a bad proposal. I just think both teams value those players too high to make it work.

Far too much for Carolina to give up for Matt Duchesne.

Duchene for Hanifin looks fair.

COL: Slavin, Di Giuseppe, 2nd

CAR: Duchene.

A duchene trade also depends if he's going to sign a new contract with the team he's going to be traded to.

I'd say Hanifin + Conditional 2nd (if Duchene resigns 2nd turns into a 1st)

Duchene has like 3 years left on his contract so you can't add conditions on a pick that depends on if he resigns unless it is a really late draft.

He has 2 years left at 6 mill so you can't extend him till July 1 2018. When a team is trading a player as good as him with 2 years term left, they aren't going to add conditions like that. Too many variables in the league that can change in 2 years.
