With Carolina being "open for business" if I'm trying to get anyone on that team it would be Faulk.

Carolina: Faulk

Edmonton: Nuge + Slepy/ 3rd round

OR

Edmonton: Eberle + 1st 2017

Carolina: Faulk
(overpaying for Faulk? )

Young transitioning 2 way C + hard working winger with offensive upside or a pick. Or a
Scorer who could find his scoring touch again if he the "go-to" guy once again and the 1st round pick.

Definitely not saying these are going to happen, but what makes more sense for Carolina if you had to choose between the two?

nuge and ebs have 2 very different values. the ebs trade is the closer of the 2 as i believe carolina would have to add in then nuge deal.

Slepy is quickly becoming one of my favourite players, he's really coming into his own these playoffs, a prototypical power forward with speed and the shot, I easily seeing him being a safe 3rd line winger that can be moved up in the top 6 and be trusted with the role, I'm a against moving him.

Edmonton adds in both. I hear that Eberle has been invisible in the playoffs and may appear on a milk carton soon. At $6MM compared to Faulk on a great contract, a 1st in a bad draft year is not nearly enough to make up for that.

Oilers are fine just as they are.

But if the trade to get Faulk was a go.
1. Trade would need to take place after the Vegas draft.
2. Eberle deal might work BECAUSE the 1st pick is a meaningless
pick in a weak draft year.
3. RNH deal + Slepy deal is a no go. Edm's better off to keep
these players than get Faulk.

In a normal draft class maybe if they retained eberles contract but the last weak draft class was 2012 so there's a big value change.

Huge no from Carolina as a Leafs fan I'd be willing to trade -Kadri, JVR and Rielly for Faulk. Faulk is an elite dman it would take Pulj to get Faulk.
