Toronto: 2017 2nd round pick and Kerby Rychel

Vancouver: Erik Gudbranson

I really think this trade works for both teams. Toronto gets a top 4 penalty killing defenseman. Vancouver gets a young winger with size and physicality and another draft pick.

This is interesting but I'm not sure Gudbranson is the solution to Toronto's D-problems. Toronto also got Rychel for the purpose of going towards rebuild. So I don't think they want to trade their young forwards like Rychel yet.

Value wise, I think it's close. Maybe a 3rd instead of 2nd.

Leafs need a better defenceman than Erik Gudbranson.
Your value is fine for this trade, but if the Leafs wanna be serious contenders next year they'll need at least one more really good top 4 d-man. Gudbranson kinda just a number 4 d-man. Nothing more nothing less.

Good trade, Toronto barely gave up any valuable assets and they bring in a guy that can fill out the top six, while helpping out Van. Toronto can't just fix all their problems with one move, there have to be tiny pieces as well.
