I think Winnipeg would also say no. Rnh isn't an improvement over little. And my personal opinion of nurse is he's a meat head in the games I've seen him play. Could just be he's only like that in games I've seen.

RNH > Scheiffle as displayed at the WHC this year.

Myers > Nurse right now, but Nurse has more of an upside for the future.

Looks like a pretty parallel trade to me with both teams giving and getting some pretty good players.

Trade can be tweaked a little. Delete RNH and add Pouliot + maybe a lower round '17 pick for the Little / Myers proposal. That's pretty even too.

Scheifele had a bit over a ppg
Where as rnh had .5 ppg
Scheifele has gotten better every year.
Rnh has stagnated.
Scheifele>rnh.

Sorry bud, Points isn't everything. The facts are that playing the same role on the same team pits exact talent levels against talent levels for the ultimate comparison.
Stagnentation as you say (obviously based ONLY on offensive output and not his team contributions) is a direct result of the role he is responsible for as assigned by the coach.

RNH is on the ice to take on the top lines of opponents and prevent opponents from scoring. Scheifele is utilized as a scorer on the top line and PP1 and is intentionally on the ice when the other team's top line is not on the ice. Of course he's going to have more points.
In a similar role RNH came away as the better player at the WHC I'm afraid to say, so this quashes the Scheifele > RNH myths.


BOTH are very good players and hopefully we can at least agree on that. I'd take either on my team!
Edge slightly to RNH though based on head to head comparisons doing the same role at the WHC though.

RNH AND Scheifele > Little

If you like Scheifele too much and don't want him to go over for RNH. then the only other feasible player accepted back for RNH from Winnipeg would be Laine, Maybe Buff if Jets ate some salary.

Season played out better for RNH than Scheifele because the Oilers are in the playoffs and the Jets are not.
Buying into the system by players like Nuge and Eberle who were 1 dimensional before, and are 2 way players now really helped
THE TEAM make the playoffs.

The oilers making it the playoffs is how the season played out for the team not for rnh. And if you honestly think that rnh is worth laine you are diluting yourself with his value. Rnh is good but no where near getting laine in a trade.

Team effort . Team rewards mean more than personal milestones. That's the kind of player RNH is. Team first.

I'll agree that Laine for RNH is a poor deal in the eyes of most. Laine has a high potential ceiling and an affordable entry level deal. Chevy would be silly to move him. But that's the Value of the player needed back to pry RNH from Edmonton.

RNH and Scheifele and Laine > Little

Not sure what else the Jets have on roster that's not too expensive ( Buff ) that's of equal value.

So I say, Edm keeps RNH. Peg Keeps Sheifele and everyone's happy right?

Marner is 3 years younger and has the potential to have 2 season over 70 points in before 23 wich is the age that took Scheifele to achieve this. I honestly think Marner is the better player and be honest. You do too you love the guy you think he's the next Patty Kane wich he could possibly be.

Undervaluation of the Oiler core players is all too common on this site and someone needs to kai bosh and correct the trades that are ALWAYS one sided. Everyone wants the players ( RNH Leon Ebs) on their team. but feel they can get them without giving up a core piece back. Hate to burst the bubble but. Not happening. So who's the fool (s) here? Those that think their getting these players without giving up a core piece back I'd say are the fools.
