Halak has won 11 straight I the minors playing very very well. Hammond cleared waivers for a reason, he is awful.
I would take Halak for $2M if this was the cost over Hammond for $1.3M anyway. But Halak with 30% retained will get more than Gryba and a 6th.

I would take Halak any day but only if Oilers could ship out pouliot or faynes contract. That's the only way. To even out the cap.

This isn't a bad trade but I think the Islanders could get a bit more than Gryba and a 6th. Halak is playing well and would be a solid backup for a playoff team.
