Doubtful Colorado would bite.
Don't see Montreal having the assets needed to attain Landy or Duchy. Sergachev = Young Dman Colorado wants, but no real decent forward prospect exists in the Montreal organization to date. Picks in the 2017 draft are of very little value.
Sorry Habs fans. Other teams will beat this offer by a mile.

You think because this is rumoured to be a weaker draft first round picks have little value? And Montreal has a few young forwards Avalanche would be interested in.

Ebs
Absolutely I do.!
Picks 1 - 5 have some value and should get you a decent NHL player in a couple of years, after that are players that will need to develop for quite a while and have no immediate impact. There's no McD's, Matthews, Marners, Laine's, Eckblads, Mackinnons or other IMPACT players touted by scouting. Could be the year of the grinder and Big Dman picks.
Habs pick would be what around #23 - 26-ish? Anything of significant value SHOULD be gone by that time, so 1st round pick is not coveted unlike in the past 2 years that had deeper drafts.
Certainly there's the fluke pick on a Zetterberg/ Datsyk that could turn out. But that's of course just a blind dart thrown at the board hoping for a bullseye shot.

Sorry Montreal's prospect shelf on Forwards is pretty Barren. They've drafted low for quite a while now since Gally and have given away a lot of their picks.
They do however have some good young tenders, and 2 decent D in the system.
