Flyers: Del Zotto + Morin + 3rd round

Jets: Trouba

Del Zotto can battle Enstrom for top pairing LHD, then Jets also get good D prospect in Morin (also a monster, Jets love guys over 6'6) plus a draft pick.
Trouba can go top pairing on Philly.

As a Philly fan, I would take that trade for sure. Our top four defensive prospects are all left handed. Morin will likely be a call up this year as he’s on a good trajectory. MDZ is underrated and played on our top pair last year. He’s certainly not top pair on very good teams, but he’s a solid 2nd pairing guy and relatively young. He’s turned it around quite nicely. I’d even go Sanheim and MDZ for Trouba, if it works with the cap and Trouba’s ask.

Colt – to your point, Morin and MDZ are not scraps. Trouba is definitely the best piece, but those guys aren’t junk.

Colt – learn to read. I didn’t say that package got you Trouba. You’re employing a classic straw-man argument – rebutting an assertion that I didn’t make.

Morin is not scraps. He was a first round pick that has very good potential but needs to mature physically and learn to use his large frame better. He’ll be a legit NHL player, with a ceiling of a middle pair. Packaging him with MDZ is not insignificant. If I was Winnipeg, I would want Sanheim instead of Morin, but that’s just me.
