The best player here is Ristolainen who Buffalo has been unable to sign. The wild card is Kane and how much the Sabres would like to get rid of him and his baggage. JVR would fit well with the Sabres and Bracco and Nielsen are projectable prospects. The 2nd rounder may or may not be needed to get the deal done. As for Evander the terrible - maybe the no nonsense structure of Leaf management may straighten him out. Doubt though that Lou would sign off on this deal! Your thoughts!?

Oh hell no from Buffalo. Risto isn't going anywhere unless you part with Matthews. Also Sabres just signed Okposo so I don't think they're looking for a top line LW. Sabres aren't rebuilding anymore and don't want prospects.

I agree Lou and the brass won't want Kane. I like the idea of targeting rasmus but I feel he will be all but impossible to get. I'm sure Sabres are as tired of telling teams 'No' about him as jets are with Trouba and ducks are with lindholm. Can't trade your best young D when no piece coming back replaces that now or in the future.

Ristolainen would probably take a big overpay. He is already good and could end up being great. Buffalo is doing some nice rebuilding. If only Kane had a better attitude. I wonder what Buffalo would actually take for him.

Rielly > Risto in my opinion. But it's super close. Just if I had to pick one I'd want Reilly. But that's just me.
