I wouldn't give up that much even tho I don't care for Slepychev, and Oilers gave up way too much for Reinhart. I don't know if I'd even give a first round, especially if it's below 15.

Ellis would be so much more appealing if he was at least 3 inches taller, his offense is nowhere near Barrie, who has the same height, probably the only reason we've considered Barrie and not going after Ellis after Barrie's unavaliability.

No one will take Reinhart. At this point, he is a bust. The Oilers just need to hope they can develop him into a serviceable 5/ 6 def.

Would good thing about Ellis is his low salary. I believe it is around 3 million for the next 3 years.

Oilers have to protect Sekera as he has a NTC. They will also need to protect Larsson because it would cause an uproar to have traded Hall for nothing. Klefbom is the 3rd D that needs to be protected as the Oilers have invested way too much to have him plucked away by expansion. Reinhart will be a RFA where as Davidson has 2 years. Davidson would likely be the one taken by Vegas.

Slepyshev is a hidden gem waiting for a roster spot to open up. He almost made the team last year and will be challenging for a roster spot this year. As much as the nay sayers wish. Reinhart is not a bust. He will be an NHL D-man, but needs a little more time as a lot of D-men do to develop. He is coming along slow but sure. He's not going to be the Subban type of flashy scoring D-man. He'll be more like an Adam foote stay at home D first kind of guy that's hard to play against in front of the net.

I'd be reluctant to give a first with this deal. Perhaps a 2018 2nd?

I ain't saying reinhart is the perfect dman, but how could u call a 21 year dman a bust? Dman take time to develop.
