No from both sides. You will never see a trade like this happen. It makes no sense to trade a top prospect for another.

No from Philly.

I don't understand why everyone is saying no by the flyers when they have an abundance of good young defenceman but lacking on elite forward prospects? I'll go ahead and be that guy that says no from the leafs because they felt Marner was the better prospect for them last year and I doubt much has happened to really change their mind after 1 year.

I agree with you Charles.

Yah I mean Marner was taken 4th overall last season and had the most Productive year in the CHL while Provonov did have a good year you can't even compare the 2 because Marner did a lot better. But you know Yahhh philly says no let's not trade a 7th overall pick for a 4th overall philly would take this and run Leafs don't touch this. Also I'm just going to point out that every one on this site Underates the Leafs so much would you trade Strome for Provonov because Marner>>>Strome in production.

But hey if give you Nylander for Provonov I think that's fair Toronto could also add JVR if Philly adds a sweetner.

Bar you just ruined a perfectly good rebuttal by adding in that last statement. That's lolable.

Yah I guess but Nylander and Prov are close in caliber of prospects.

The 2015 draft was over a year ago, Marner I agree is a very good offensive prospect but I personally think Provorov is better. Points aren't everything. It's also harder to find a D prospect as good as Provorov compared to forward prospects. If I were to choose one to build a team around it would easily be Provorov.

Only watched a couple Wheatie games but Provorov didn't look out of this world like everyone thinks he is. Marner was taken ahead of him as was another D not long ago.

I've also seen both players play. But I've seen Provorov play a lot more as my local major junior team is in the same division as Brandon.

The debate for the Leafs in the 2015 draft was between Marner and Hanifin, and the Leafs went with Marner because they felt that he had the highest ceiling. Hanifin went on to have an amazing rookie campaign but Marner has only increased his stock since that draft. Provorov is a stud and I would love to have him on the Leafs but Marner has continued to justify why he is more valuable. That is by no means a dismissal of Provorov's talent. Ultimately, any trade involving two top prospects like these two would come down to team needs.
