This is definitely one of the better Subban to Edm trades, I know there are speculations that Bergevin will trade him if it's the right return with needs coming back, Montreal is a pretty decent offensive team, but it doesn't get you deep into the playoffs unless you have more than 3 goals a game consistently, which they weren't, they were getting less, Reinhart seems to be the only liability to this as he's only a solid top 6 d-man at the momentand they're expecting someone to fill his role and not many d-men in the free agency can fix Subbans whole role if he leaves. But other than that, the value seems close to fair, love how you played with the salaries and Ebs, Yak could have a chance to excel in the much less competitive East.

The only thing of real value coming back from that trade for Subban is Eberle. Bergevin stated that he isn't shopping him so I doubt they would accept a package like this. Easy no for Montreal.

That's also a lot of years of retaining Subban's salary. Paying him to be as *cringe* good as he has in the past, for another team- doesn't really make sense. (It's like Toronto paying Kessel to score 26 goals this year. )

Subban for Hall and Edmonton's first. That should be the base of the trade. Still think Montreal looses that trade. I just don't think you can replace what Subban brings to blue line.

That's just a crazy over payment as well over value of Subban. He's a great dman but he's not that great. Oilers can find better ways to get what they need without selling the house for 1 player.

Edmonton wants a d-man. Everyone knows they want a d-man. D-men are at a premium. Use the Hamilton trade as a templat, then add to that. Nobody is going to help Edmonton out of their mess. If you want a top d-man get ready to pay. You may not like it but that is how it will be.

What are you talking about, Vancity? Every team has needs. All GMs look to other teams to get something they need and try to pay for it with what they can give up. They're not petty high school girls, they're professionals. If a deal is there to be made, it's not going to be one-sided just because edmonton needs a dman. Chiarelli isn't going to say yes to whatever is demanded just because he needs a dman. Use your head.

Yes but a 2nd line right winger and a 2 round pick, plus a bunch of crap will not get you an all-star defenseman. Edmonton fans if all your players are so good, why does your team suck. It's like Toronto fans trading Lupul for anything. Toronto you are stuck with Lupul and might be able to buy him out next summer. Edmonton will have to sell low on it's players till they prove they can win.
Edmonton will say we had injuries. St. Louis had way more injuries and they still managed 107 pts. Its been 10 years into your rebuild and you managed 2nd last. Worse than last year. I just don't see the value in Edmonton players.
