An Idea around

TOR JVR +

WPG Trouba.

- With Buffs big contract it likely means Ladds on his way out and Also gives them two Right handed D Signed long term in Buff and Myers.

- Apparently Trouba wants a big contract and it may not work with Jets situation.

- For Winnipeg they'd be getting a Top line LW to replace Ladd whom plays a similar power forward game to JVR.

- For the Leafs they get a Right handed D that has similar age and potential to play with Rielly long term something Toronto needs. I love JVR but with likely another forward at the draft 2016, Marner, Nylander, Brown, Kapanen, etc. Leafs need Defencemen not Forwards. And of course the possibility of Stammer.

- Leafs add a bit I think because of age and I wonder if Toronto could try to get Comrie in the deal as the Jets have Helleybuk.

They will trade Ladd sign trouba long term and in two - three years the top 4 will be

Trouba - buff
Morrissey - Myers

They wouldn't have signed buff if it meant getting rid of trouba. Who do you want more buff in five years or trouba.

Unless Toronto adds there 1st round pick jets say no. Repeatedly.

It is a good base for a trade. Really depends on what Trouba is looking for contract wise. My guess is he wants to cash in like Hamilton did. JVR and the pens 1st maybe? It's a good base and wouldn't be surprised if the leafs are talking about something like this.

Get over this over evaluating trouba yes he's good not arguing that but jvr is a top line player on a ridiculously good contract so it's not leafs add it's this deal won't happen cause it makes no sense

If it were to happen it would have to include more pieces going each way

Think JVR for Trouba is a good starting point for a trade. Obviously, for it to work, both sides need to add.
Winnipeg: Trouba, Comrie, prospect Brendan Lemieux
Toronto: JVR, Kapenan, Marincin or Harrington.

If Toronto has to add more than a 3rd round pick to JVR for Trouba then I say screw it, just keep JVR. Doesn't make sense for Toronto to start dismantling everything they've started working towards.

if trouba's agent is stuck on 7 million per year, trouba is gone. he's just not worth it!
