My Montreal Canadiens off season-in depth

Mtl: Plekanec(retain 10%), 2nd 2016
Chi:Sharp, Bickell

helps Chicago in cap situation and with Montreal retaining salary and getting a good top six forward and depth its a win win scenario

Mtl: Emelin, Dietz
Clb: 2nd 2015

Jackets need defense and with a healthy team ext year, Emelin could fill the void on d, and the habs get a 2nd pick back

Mtl:Desharnias
anyone for anything

his cap isn't so bad but his style just doesn't fit our needs anymore, time for a change of scenery on both parts

Mtl: Parenteau, Bournival
Edm: 5th

simple cap move, Parenteau drew some interest from the oilers this deadline and was almost traded, why not do that now with a prospect as a sweetener

bold one

Mtl: Tinordi, Bozon, Lekhonen, Thrower, 2nd 2016(Buff)

SJ:Burns, 3rd 2016

A couple of prospects going San Jose's way and having a good big Canadian boy coming back the habs way. Will play back as a forward

Draft:

1st: Boeser
2nd: Greenway
3rd Tretiak
5th: Mccool
6th: Garland
7th: Gres

Boeser a "gifted goal scorer and dynamic player'' would be a great addition to the habs. dynamic power winger who can be a bright player in the habs near future

Greenway a big 6'4 power forward in the USHL, could prove to be a steal in the second round as he uses his frame on a basis and cannot be easily knocked off the puck, can be a great nhl power forward if he can take his game to the next level.

Tretiak, his dad also a goalie who was a habs prospect back in the 70s and ended up playing for the red army in the famous new years eve showdown, he can prove to be either like his dad wit incredible reflexes but a shorter stock, could be a good backup nhl goalie and potentially a lower starter.

Mccool: a crash the net style of center, he has the potential to be a good checking line forward but lacks the hands, but makes up for it in using his size rather than speed, long term project

Garland at 5'7 plays a 6 foot game and much like a late pick in the likes of Brendan Gallagher with the same playing style, he could be a late steal with his dynamic and playmaking style.

Gres at 6'4 is not that aggressive in terms of style however will take the hack tot the legs from defenders and goalies in front of the net 24/7 to drive the goalie wild, needs to use physicality more to take next level step

resign: Galchenyuk, Mitchell, Petry

walks: Malholtra, Gonchar, Weaver

Free agent signings: Beleskey, Beagle, Bellemore

habs 2015-16 lineup

Pacioretty-Burns-Sharp
Beleskey-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
Bickell-Eller-Weise
Prust-Mitchell-Beagle/DLR

Subban-Markov
Gilbert-Petry
Beaulieu-Pateryn
Bellemore

Price
Tokarski

I believe(and hope) that to an extent that MB takes this team and style into account of which direction we need to take, size and scoring all at a reasonable and fair cost.

I think this team can win, do you?

lets hear what you think

Just one little tweak is needed. You must be crazy if you think that Conor Garland will fall to the sixth round. He is undersized yes, but the leading scorer of the QMJHL will be gone by the middle of the 4th round AT LEAST.
