Rather have Gleason then that punching bag Orpik, plus some GM idiot is going to give Orpik 4.5 mil per until he retires.

move Dion and his 7mil and take a two year chance on Danny Boyle and Erhoff have both of those guys at around Dions price tag. IMO anyhow

They not done yet.

Moving gunnarson for Polak was because they already have an agreement in place with some |UFA defenseman ready to be signed july 1st

I think the LEafs have a deal in place to trade Gleason if they get the UFA defenseman they want. Polak can do Gleasons job and he is a lot cheaper. I don't see Franson playing for the LEafs next season.

would be a pretty decent defense. Depending if Phaneuf doesn't dissappear. First year of a gauranteed 7 million for 7 years |(Phaneuf will dissappear)

If Leafs can't trade Phaneuf it would be very wise to strip him of the captaincy and give it to Lupul, JVR or Kessel. Or keep it vacant for the year and see if Clarkson can have a rebound year and give it to him if he plays like he did in Jersey

I prefer the Leafs sign Mark Fayne over Brooks Orpik. He is a better fit over Gleason and Orpik in my opinion since he will come cheaper than Orpik and is also younger than him, and he is a right handed shut down D man which we need more than a lefted handed D man in Gleason and Orpik.

I wouldn't mind seeing Robidas or Boyle in a Leafs jersey. Team needs to build around Gardiner and Rielly. Gardiner was the Leafs best dman during the collapse. The Ducks had a d-core that eas not made of superstars, but guys who played smart and didn't try to overdue it. Polak is going to be agreat shut down dman for the Leafs this upcoming season.

Heard that lecavalier for gleason is one of the top offers that Tampa has recieved. not sure if its a one for one or more pieces are involved. but this would give us cap for boyle, ehrhoff, or orpik
